Make your popcorn healthier and tastier by trying one of this 5 delicious recipes of popcorn with olive oil.

Movie night is about 50% movie selection, 50% snack selection, right? A delicious and healthy snack that satisfies most people is popcorn. But did you know that microwave popcorns can be very unhealthy, high in bad fats and calories? A better choice is to make stove top popcorn or use a popcorn popper and then season the popcorn yourself. Not only is this healthier, but you can also make popcorn that is way tastier this way. Try one of these recipes on your next movie night.

Step 1: Pop your popcorn according to your preferred method, either on the stove top or in a popcorn popper. If you normally use butter in this process, switch for an equivalent amount of light olive oil, which will make the popcorn healthier and dairy-free.

Step 2: Season the popped corn. Adjust the amounts of oil and flavors based on how much popcorn you’ve popped.

1. Traditional Popcorn Recipe

For a traditional movie popcorn flavordrizzle the popped corn with light olive oil (2-3 spoonfuls), and then after shake table salt (start with ½ a spoonful of salt). Toss the popcorn to coat it in the flavors.

2. Cheesy Popcorn Recipe

For a cheesy popcorn follow the same recipe as the traditional popcorn, but also shake on some grated, dry parmesan cheese, about ¼ cup. Children especially love this recipe!

3. Truffle Popcorn Recipe

For something more sophisticated, try truffle popcorn. Follow the traditional recipe, but use slightly less olive, so your oil on your popcorn is ¾ olive oil and ¼ truffle oil. Salt the popcorn as with the traditional recipe. Toss the popcorn to coat it in the flavors.

4. Her Popcorn Recipe

For a popcorn that packs a flavor punch, try herb popcorn. Follow the traditional recipe, but add a spoonful of dried rosemary, and half a spoonful of dried garlic. Toss the popcorn to coat it in the flavors.

5. All Dressed Popcorn Recipe

Finally, try all dressed popcorn. Follow the traditional recipe, but add a spoonful of dried onion, half spoonful of dried garlic, spoonful of poppy and sesame seeds. Toss the popcorn to coat it in the flavors.
