Soups are perfect for winter time, they help keep you and family healthy, especially when they’re packed with vegetables, they can be quick and easy to make, they’re a great way to use up leftovers, and they’re budget friendly. Below we’ve listed five of our favourite winter soups, you’ll also find a link to their recipes!

1) Indian Winter Soup

Top of our list is something a little different, a rather delicious Indian winter soup which is packed full of spices and different flavours. This soup is perfect if you’ve found your recent winter dishes a bit drab or boring, it’s also full of healthy ingredients such as paprika, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes, and is very easy to make!  

This BBC Good Food recipe has vegetable oil among its ingredients. Nevertheless, we prefered to make it with La Española Light in Colour Olive Oil.

2) Garlic Soup

Our simple to make Garlic soup is ready in just 45 minutes and will allow you to sample what it’s like to live like a local in Spain, all from the comfort of your own sofa, perfect for a cold winters evening.

3) Spiced Root Vegetable Soup

We came across this recipe a couple of years back and it’s been a go to for us ever since, as Le Coin de Mel - the creator - says it feels creamy without the cream, and it certainly is healthy. The accompanying spices don’t overwhelm, and it certainly makes you feel good on a very cold night. It’s a healthier version of an old favourite, and certainly worth a try.

We recommend you La Española Light in Colour for this recipe. Nevertheless, if you want a more intese flavour, La Española Pure Olive Oil is the way to go!

4) Chicken Noodle Soup

Sometimes you need a little break from the norm, especially in winter when you might find yourself becoming bored by the same old meals, so what better than a little oriental inspiration when it comes to your soups? 5) Celeriac, Hazelnut and Truffle Soup

The last soup on our list is another great one from the BBCs good food website, it’s healthy, perfect for vegans, and works as a starter for meals or gatherings. As you’ll see on the recipe it’s also the perfect excuse to use La Española Extra Virgin Olive Oil flavoured with White Truffle as a finishing touch. If you’re looking for something different or fancy showing off to friends and family then this is the perfect soup recipe to try.
