Next time you plan a girls’ night in, along with the essential wine and chat, how about a quick beauty session too? Nothing beats quality time with your best friends, your favourite TV show or movies, and pampering together.

No need for fiddly, expensive ingredients - these great beauty treatments only take a few minutes to prepare, using food you’ll already have in your store cupboard or fridge - including, naturally, La Española Olive Oil.

As we all know, the best products have natural, chemical-free ingredients, and what could be more beautifully natural than 100% olive juice, straight from the tree?

So why is olive oil so good for your skin?

The antioxidants in olive oil help to slow down the aging process, while Vitamin E protects your skin from UV light, and oleic acid regenerates skin and is an anti-inflammatory. Other benefits include hydrating the skin and making it soft and smooth. Plus, olive oil doesn’t clog your pores.

The other ingredients in our face masks are deliciously beneficial for your skin too - banana is known as “nature’s botox” for its nutrients and firming properties, including Vitamin A, which fades dark spots, while honey has been used for thousands of years to soothe and heal the skin. Avocado has a bunch of minerals and vitamins which do wonders for the skin, including Vitamin C (to make collagen, for skin elasticity). Be sure to use a soft, ripe fruit.

Each recipe is enough for one mask, so just double the ingredients for two masks etc. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes while you relax, then rinse off with lukewarm water (or eat, although not the raw egg!), pat your face dry with a soft towel, and admire your glowing complexion!

  1. Ideally, use the mask after a shower, as the steam will open your pores, so your skin can soak up the nutrients in the mask more effectively; alternatively, give yourself a home steam treatment by pouring hot water into a bowl, putting a towel over your head, and holding your face over the bowl for 5 minutes

  2. You can chill the mask in the fridge for a few minutes before using it, to make it more refreshing

  3. Be careful to avoid your eyes when applying the mask

  4. Place a slice of cucumber over each eye while relaxing
